So Swann forced Clay to can Calloway and stop letting Tee call plays. I actually don't like this at all.

If 'SC wins their next 3 and is somewhat competitive with ND than the narrative becomes that Calloway and Tee were the problems, rather than Clay. Up until these moves were announced Clay was as good as gone. Now he has an out if, and it's a big if, the team looks improved over the next month.

On the other hand, you can never underestimate Clay's ability to keep an inferior team in a game. A loss to Cal or, more likely, Ucla, would not surprise me at all.

If they aren't gonna hit in practice, nothing gonna change.  Hugs has already had to admit he was wrong with his staff, but if he's not gonna fully admit he was full of shit and correct all of his missteps, he's still going down. ND is gonna pummel him.

thats my take too....it’s Bush league move...make changes before playing the three worst teams in conference. Clay is a sneak. Beady eyed sneak.
So now if SC wins these three, he can blame them and get another year. It’s chicken shit.

Agree that nothing will change with 'SC. This is Clay's program. Moving a couple of assistants around midseason is pointless.

I'm more worried about the fact that now Clay and Swann have a "change" they can point to if the Trojans reel off a winning streak against these Pac bottom dwellers (also known as a Clay Helton special). "See! We were struggling so we made some tough decisions and now we've won 3 in a row. The future is bright!"

And you know a large chunk of the 'SC fan base is dying for any reason to put their knee pads back on for coach Clay.

Not worried in the least. Gomer is everything all of you are claiming. The one thing he isn't though is good and that is why he is a dead man walking.

Yup. He's had his Mulligan, played way too late Imo, but from here on out the crosshairs are on him. Multiple losses or a huge blowout loss to ND will seal the deal. 3-1 w a respectable loss to ND and he probably gets another season.

yea, agreed....a blowout to ND and a trip to El Paso will be too much for Gomer to overcome. 7-5 w/o playing either Oregon or Washington is really bad.
