Guy is just a winner.

Sure, he had a massive talent advantage over his opponent as usual.

And yes, his most consistent offense tonight was getting the future car salesmen on Wazzu to commit PI against the future professional football players in cardinal & gold.

And admittedly, his defense gave up 4 consecutive long touchdown drives and couldn't get off the field all night.

But the bottom line is Wazzu had a protection breakdown on the field goal unit and the Trojans took down the mighty Cougs by 3 at home, baby!

Wouldn't you love to know what was going through Leach's head when the milkman was jogging over to tell him good game and that Jesus loves him? I'm guessing it was something along the lines of, "Let's switch teams and do it again next week, motherfucker."

Can't wait 'til someone who has earned it is on USC's sideline again.

Leach Coug’d it. But I’ll take it! Ws are not cheap these days.

Gotta hand it to the kids, they made plays when they had to, and never gave up! Good for them!

I always feel bad for the players during seasons like this. They signed up for conquest, for championships. Not for 3 touchdown beatdowns and a half-empty Coliseum.

Nice to see J.T. slinging it to what may be the best receiver corps in the country. Fun to watch what those kids can do.

our WRs rock! Still need a TE. Completely ignored position.

What was really pathetic was how happy Hugs was to win the game against a severely overmatched opponent at home.  It took Leach cougin' it for sc to escape with a victory.  Honestly, I can't believe Leach positioned himself for the FG instead of passing.  sc couldn't stop WAZZU all night

Helckett has to be the luckiest SOB in CFB.  Narrow wins against the worst conference in the country and avoids the top two teams in the league.  Oregon would absolutely throttle this team and UW would win by at least 14.  The only way sc was moving the ball was chucking it high in the air and counting on WAZZU to get PI calls.  In fact I don't think I've ever seen 7 PI calls by one team in a game.

BTW, I'd hire Leach in a second

That’s the fools gold. Lotta Ws vs the W12, but can’t beat the elite teams. His best win was in Seattle.

We have at 1, maybe two tough games left. Notre Dame, @ Utah. That’s it!
We’ll limp into 8-4, and the peanut gallery will howl how Gomer deserves another year. We’re gonna fuck around and miss an opportunity to at least gauge Stoops’ interest. Some other program will pull the trigger, and we’ll be holding our cocks in our hands.
So frustrating. Keep wasting talent. Keep wasting seasons.

Amen. Why even bother recruiting elite athletes like Falo and Angeline if you're just going to put in guys like Petite and Krommenhoek to block and run 3 yard outs?

Would love to see J.T. have a big, athletic target like Falo running down the seam just once in awhile.

THAT, would entail us using the middle of the field. 🤦🏼‍♂️

classic.

I'm guessing every coach that loses to helton (or kiff or sark) has thought the same thing.

Not so fast my friend.

AZ beats Helton next week at the truck stop.  If Herm coaches a tight game, asu beats usc in the coli.  Ditto for CU if they can deal with the talent disadvantage with superior coaching.  Hell, osu is gonna give usc a tough game in corvallis.  Pete couldn't win there without a tussle.  How do you think clay's gonna fair?

I think the only gimme game left is ucla.  I knew this was gonna be a rough first year for chip, but with monster transferring, ucla has some serious internal issues to resolve.

I dunno man, not sure the W12 is that good. Aside from UW and Ferd, who is there?

It's not about the pac being good; usc is that bad. They only won last night b/c the game was in la...

AZ on the road with a running qb is an Uh Oh for usc.

Solid coaching like Herm could provide. Uh Oh.

CU is a stretch, esp in the coli, but usc's winning streak over them is gonna end some time. And you know they have that game circled.

Utah and ND are losses.

OSU in corvallis... Helton is really bad on the road. OSU makes their season with a win. Game circled.

UCLA is just that bad.

Cal is probably a win only b/c it's in the coli. see wazzu for how the game will play out.

If that comes true, then he’s done before Dec

The irresistable force versus the immovable object. Clay's negative coaching versus the weakness of the Pac-12.

Two things we know: 'SC has already lost twice and Helton teams never win games they aren't supposed to (1-10 as dogs). They will almost certainly be underdogs at Utah and against ND. That's 4 losses.

So the question that remains is how many can they win of @ UofA, vs CU, vs ASU, @ OSU, vs Cal & @ Ucla.

'SC will be favored in each individual game but the probability of them winning all 6 is slim. Who knows which game or games it will be that gets them? I sure don't, but I feel fairly confident in saying that they won't win all 6.

This seems to me to be headed towards 7-5 or even 6-6.
