We are right back where we were 18 years ago.

Fortunately,  this is Gomer's last year at the helm. He is a dead man walking. While I have no clue who will replace him, it won't be anyone currently on the staff and that virtually guaranteed that next year's staff will be an improvement over the current one.

Bingo. Fan base, media, boosters and parents have all turned. 'SC's hand will be forced.

Plus, we're about due to stumble into a good hire.

Stoops with a year to prepare vs Saban could be pretty epic.  Think of the ratings, USC.  CHA-CHING, since we know $$$ is all you value. Do this for your own bottomline.

I think Gomer is worse than Hackett. From what I heard from some of former SC players who played under Hackett they actually had tough practices instead of Gomer's patty cake ice cream and cookie handouts. Of course Hackett was clueless on Saturdays as is Gomer and Wonderlic 11. This really is deja vu we are living through. I would love to see what Stoops could do for Jack Sears as the guy has real ability and his mobility is excellent.

Hackett, better or worse, actually deserved a shot as USC HC. He was a VERY respected OC both in the NFL and college, He was part on an MNC winning staff in college (at usc, since that's probably what really got him the job in the first place).  Hugs can't say any of those things.  He was a flunky at Auburn, had to transfer back to his dad's program at Houston just to see the field.  The guy has been a loser since day one.
