Pac 12 Pigskin Message Board

It's all over now except for the firing.

What I'm really interested to see is what happens to this locker room. There is a misconception out there that, while he may not be a very good football coach, Clay Helton is a leader of men. He is not. He is a pushover. He simply has the good fortune of being compared to the two absolute morons (his mentors) that preceded him.

Remember that Clay's program was on the verge of collapsing 2 years ago until #14 stepped in and stepped up. We are back there now. The players are getting more vocal with their concerns. Some of the parents are apoplectic. Disciplinary issues are already running rampant behind the scenes and not being addressed with any consistency. This has the potential to really unravel.

As far as the play on the field, the product will continue to devolve. Some may be fooled into thinking that the team is playing better when they start facing some of the lesser teams in the Pac, but we won't be. It will only get worse the longer Clay is in charge.

Team has quit, only a matter of time when it completely implodes. A loss to a shitty WAC12 team will seal the deal.

Sad thing is, even if we get rid of the clown, does anyone have any  confidence that we’ll make a good hire?

Appreciate your takes Hoss. You confirm a lot of what I'm suspecting is going on behind the scenes, but I'm not privy to any concrete info beyond what I see on the field.

This situation is gonna go full China syndrome. The longer Swann takes to man up and earn his overpriced paycheck, the worse things will get.

Exactly right, NEB. This sure feels like it's going to get really ugly.
